How can I find my birth time, and how much does it matter?

In the US and UK, start with your birth certificate, hospital record, or local vital records / register office. In China, ask family first, then check the birth medical certificate, chart, or hospital archive if available. If a document shows only the date, you still need family or hospital confirmation for the time.

If you leave the time unknown, the system uses 12:00 PM as a default so you can still get a directional reading. Accuracy does drop: Human Design can change around gate boundaries, BaZi hour pillar changes directly, and Zi Wei Dou Shu palace and star placement can shift as well.
